					Hwange National Park Hwange (pronounced Wenkee or Wankie) is located in the northwest corner of Zimbabwe, bordering Botswana. It is the largest of Zimbabwe's game parks occupying 14,650 square kilometers. It is the most accessible of Zimbabwe's parks and the most prolific with mammals making it the number one choice for visitors to Zimbabwe.

					Animals & Birds Hwange National Park is home to over 100 mammal species, including the Big 5. Gemsbok and Brown Hyena occur in reasonable numbers. Elephants are so populous they are placing pressure on the eco-system. The park is also home to one of the largest populations of African Wild Dogs. Over 400 birds species abound making this a bird watchers dream, especially in the wet season. The two main birding areas are the Main Camp and the Robins and Sinamatella Rest Camps.
				Notable Facts Hwange is home to the one of the largest elephant populations in the world.
					Visiting Dry Season (July - Oct) In the dry season animals congregate around water holes making the game viewing easier. The waterholes are pump assisted, creating a noisy environment. Several of the waterholes have raised hides for spectacular game viewing. Wet Season The wet season is the obvious choice for bird watching. Temperatures on average range from 65-83°F (18-28°C)
