					Matobo National Park Matobo National Park is located in Zimbabwe's southwest just south of Hwange National Park. This park is one to visit if you are looking to discover a unique landscape, formed with giant ancient granite balancing boulders, or “kopjes”.

					Animals & Birds Wooded valleys, grassy marshlands and streams are home to a large population of white rhino, antelope species including the klipspringer, baboon, rock hyraxes and significant numbers of leopard. The rocky granite is a favourite haunt of various raptors but birding is best confined to the early morning. The park boasts the world’s largest concentration of black eagles.
				Notable Facts Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, a bequest from Cecil Rhodes in 1926 created Rhodes Matopos National Park. The current national park has changed shape, yet still hold the site of Cecil Rhodes grave on the summit of Malindidzimu, the 'hill of the spirits' also referred to as "World's View". The best viewing is to be had in the is in the Game Park, on the west side of the national park.
					Visiting Dry Season (May - Oct) As with most of Zimbabwe, the dry season is the best for animal viewing, with temperatures increasing towards November, but relatively low humidity. Wet Season (Nov - April) Thunderstorms occur every few days increasing the humidity.
