					Matusadona National Park Matusadona is located in northeast corner of Zimbabwe along the south shore of Lake Kariba. Matsuadona National Park occupies over 1500 square kilometers but accessible regions fluctuate in conjunction with the high and low waters of the lake. Outstanding bird watching, game watching by boat and daunting physical game hikes offer excitement to those that visit this unique region. 					Animals & Birds Matusadona National Park is home to over 240 bird species, the largest concentration of lions in Zimbabwe and the rare black rhinoceros. Buffalo, leopard, elephant, waterbuck and hyena occur in reasonable numbers as well as hippopotamus and crocodile. Matusadona is a little known Big 5 environment. Located along the shores of Lake Kariba, Matusadona offers a unique ecosystem, and by water and foot, a unique exploration opportunity.
				Notable Facts Tracking game on foot accompanied by an armed guard is one of the parks most exhilarating and unique experiences. Crowds and traffic are kept out of the park by the poor roads - allowing for this primitive adventure.
					Visiting Dry Season (May - Oct) In the dry season animals come to the lake to drink and graze along the banks. As October approaches the heat starts to get oppressive. The dry season is the best time to visit. Wet Season (Nov - April) The wet season moves the animals away from the lake, as their dependency on this single source of water diminishes. Very humid and hot at this time of year.
