DAY 1
CAPE TOWN

With its majestic Table Mountain backdrop, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world; an eclectic mix of architectural styles reflects the tastes and dictates of the past and the more functional demands of the 20th Century. Cobblestone streets, mosques and the flat roofed pastel homes of the Malay quarter enhance a cosmopolitan ambience and in a recent development, the restoration of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront evokes images of the seafaring activities of the 19th century. At the end of the day, gourmets and lovers of sophisticated entertainment have a treat in store as the choice for your evening's repast is vast.

On arrival in Cape Town you will be met by a representative from Welcome Tourism Services who will accompany you to the Europcar Rental desk. Pick up your rental car, a Group D Toyota Corolla 1.6 or similar (automatic with air-conditioning). Self-drive to Olaf's Guest House, situated a short distance away in Seapoint.

Olaf's Guest House is located on a quiet road close to the beach front and Waterfront, yet only minutes from the town centre. Owner Olaf Dambrowski offers charming accommodation, recently refurbished in an African-Colonial Style, with personalised service. There are eight en-suite bedrooms with shower, television with M-Net, telephones and coffee/tea facilities. Superb full breakfasts can be enjoyed in the fine dining room or on the sunny patio, overlooking the swimming pool. Walk to beaches, shops, restaurants and cinemas. Olaf's received the 1996 Satour Guest House of the Year Award.

DAY 2/3
CAPE TOWN

The next 2 days are at leisure to the explore the beautiful city of Cape Town. During this time you may wish to take a drive out to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and see Cape Point where, by tradition, the waters of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet or spend the day at the Waterfront with an afternoon trip to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for many years.

DAY 4
STELLENBOSCH

Leave Cape Town and drive into the Cape Winelands. Dominated by indigo mountains, the Winelands are situated within easy reach of Cape Town in the Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek districts. The Winelands provide wonderful opportunities for wine lovers to sample and buy noble vintages, to explore exquisitely furnished Cape Dutch manor houses and to delve into the history of the area.

Charm and ambience are the bywords of D'Ouwe Werf, an historic country inn situated in the heart of Stellenbosch. The stylish Georgian entrance sets the tone for the interior which exudes an atmosphere of warmth, where gleaming wood and antiques combine with soft mellow colours. The en suite bedrooms are individually decorated, with easy chairs and modern comforts such as TV and radio, tea and coffee making facilities, bar fridge, and air conditioning. Sample traditional Cape cuisine at dinner in a candlelit garden setting or indoors. A small pool is the perfect place to cool off in summer whilst the more energetic may enjoy a stroll to the nearby museums, galleries and shops.

DAY 5
STELLENBOSCH

A full day to explore Stellenbosch and the historic wine estates in Paarl and Franschoek. Overnight at d'Ouwe Werf on a bed and breakfast basis.

DEPART

Self-drive to Cape Town Airport. Drop-off your rental car prior to checking in for your departure flight.
