   Arriving at Chobe National Park is startling, like emerging out of a rock concert into silence. The Chobe River flows quietly, 50 feet from the tents. Morning land game drives produce elephants (for which this park is famous), leopard, warthogs, mongooses, gazelle, and dozens of brightly colored birds. More beautiful are the evening river game trips. From a covered boat, hippos, birds, and hundreds of elephants are seen. The perspective of looking up at a drinking elephant 6-10 feet from the boat is odd and frightening. Everything looks bigger here. (excerpt from Doug)
