OF TRAVEL On Your Own - There are only a few destinations such as areas within Southern Africa, where public transport or renting a car and going "on your own" is "reasonable". Trust me, I know - I tried it. There were areas where I didn't see a lot, sitting in the back of a beer truck. Keep in mind no-one lives in the game reserves so there is no transport to those areas. If you're in a rental vehicle, what do you do when you break down - walk? No one knows where you are.
