Mount Kilimajaro - Marangu Route
(easy route)

The Marangu route to climb Kilimajaro is most often climbed and you will meet parties of climbers travelling in each direction.

You begin with a transfer from Arusha to your base hotel in Moshi where you will overnight.

The Springland Hotel is located just outside Moshi in a forest near the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is a small, modern family-run hotel, which is ideal as a home base for exploring this beautiful part of Tanzania. / Here you can enjoy a refreshing drink or a local beer while watching the fabulous sunset reflected on the snows of Kilimanjaro.
   

Mount Kilimanjaro is the crown of Tanzania. The view of this majestic mountain's snow-capped summit dome, rising to a height of 5896 m (19344 ft) is one of Africa's classic images. As the highest mountain in all of Africa it attracts trekkers and climbers from all over the world. Climbing Kilimanjaro is a matter of endurance rather than technical effort and the views one is afforded from the summit on a clear day are nothing less than breathtaking.

The mountain can be climbed at any time of the year but the best months for climbing Kilimanjaro are January, February and September with July, October, November and December also being good. You must be reasonably fit to attempt the climb and acclimatization is recommended by spending an extra night at Horombo Hut at an altitude of 3,795 m (12,450 ft).

The Marangu Route (7 days/6 nights, 5 days on trek). Is the easiest and most popular route for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
    

The Marangu Route takes about 5 days to reach the main summit, the Kibo, (without the recommended extra day at the Horombo Hut) and involves walking a total of about 80 kilometers. The route begins at the Marangu Gate and then passes through the spectacularly beautiful tangles rain forest, where it is common to encounter striking black & white Colobus and "blue" monkeys. Trekker's stay in huts along the route - Mandara (1st night - 2750m/15,000ft);
Horombo (2nd night - 3700 m/12,000 ft);
Kibo (3rd night - 4700 m/15,000 ft);
Summit day - Horombo (4th night)
and descent on the 5th day.
    

7 day/6 nights on Kilimanjaro climb on a full board basis. 1 night pre-climb and 1 night post-climb are spent at Springland base hotel; 4 nights are spent in equipped huts or tents on the mountain.
